Travel aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express to the heart of South East Asia with this magnificent journey from Bangkok through the beauty of Thailand, to the infamous River Kwai, and onwards to Malaysia and colonial Georgetown.

Location: Singapore to Bangkok, journey through the heart of South-East Asia , visiting colonial Georgetown, Fort Cornwallis and the infamous River Kwai.
Transfer Time: Approxinately 30 minutes from Changi International to the downtown area.
Rooms/Suites: 60 consisting of Pullman Superior Cabins , Pullman Single Cabins, State Cabins and Presidential Cabins
Restaurants/Bars: 4 – two restaurant cars for dinner , Bar Car for cocktails, aperitifs, liqueurs and entertainment and Obeservation Car for early breakfast.

Day 1 Singapore

Take your private car transfer from your hotel or from the airport to Woodland Railway Station, board the Eastern & Oriental Express and settle into your cabin as the train enters Malaysia via the causeway of the Straits of Johor.Enjoy afternoon tea in one of the opulent dining cars and spend a relaxing evening after dinner in the Bar Car in the company of our resident pianist.Disembark for a stroll when the train pauses at Kuala Lumpur’s magnificent Moorish-style station before retiring to your cabin, which has been transformed into a cosy bedroom.

 

Day 2 Penang/Georgetown

After breakfast on board, disembark for the crossing to Penang. Here coaches take you across to colonial Georgetown, capital of Penang, on the local ferry. Enjoy a guided introductory tour with pre-World War II mosques, elaborately-roofed temples, churches, bazaars and colourful shophouses.

Take the short ride back to Butterworth and rejoin the Eastern & Oriental Express. Lunch is served on board. As the train crosses into Thailand, spend the afternoon watching the changing scenery from the open deck of the Observation Car or relax in the Bar Car.

Dine again in one of the opulent dining cars and then your last night on board relaxing evening in the Bar Car with its resident pianist.

 

Day 3 River Kwai/Bangkok

After breakfast on board, disembark for the crossing to Penang. Here coaches take you across to colonial Georgetown, capital of Penang, on the local ferry.

Enjoy a guided introductory tour with pre-World War II mosques, elaborately-roofed temples, churches, bazaars and colourful shophouses.
